Russia's Isolation torture chamber chief to be tried for terrorism, human trafficking, war crimes - Prosecutor General's Office
The chief of Russia's Isolation prison in Donetsk will be tried for human trafficking, participating in a terrorist organization, and violating the laws of war
This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office sent charges to the court against the so-called head of the Isolation prison in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. The accused is charged with human trafficking, participation in a terrorist organization, as well as violation of the laws and customs of war.
"This prison was created for the illegal detention of prisoners of war and civilians, their torture, the task of mutilation in order to obtain testimony about their alleged crimes, as well as intimidation and psychological pressure on them", it is noted.
From October 2014 to February 2018, the perpetrator held the victims against their will in the Isolation torture chamber. The accused, together with accomplices from the paramilitary formation "Ministry of State Security of the DPR", used physical and mental violence against the victims. In addition, they were tortured, simulated shooting, as well as beaten with sticks and electric shocks.
People were kept without food, water, medical care, and without access to a toilet.
