The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports this in a morning briefing.
It is noted that in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, Russian forces continue to forcibly issue passports to the population.
Thus, the Russian occupying forces, together with the police, have intensified inspections at checkpoints and threaten to evict all citizens who do not receive a Russian passport from the beginning of March.
Ukrainian troops repel enemy attacks near 7 settlements
Over the past day, February 21, Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled attacks near 2 settlements in Luhansk region and 5 in Donetsk region.
Ukrainian Armed Forces hit areas of Russian manpower concentration and air defense
Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 8 strikes on the areas of concentration of Russian personnel and military equipment and 2 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.
Missile and artillery units struck 2 areas of enemy manpower concentration.
Russia fired 59 times from MLRS in Ukraine over the past day
On February 21, the enemy fired 59 times from multiple launch rocket systems. As a result of the criminal actions of the Russian invaders, civilian residential buildings were destroyed and damaged, and there are dead and wounded civilians.
There is a great danger of further Russian air and missile strikes throughout Ukraine.
Russia does not stop shelling various localities and is focused on attacking in 5 directions
The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the offensive in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian border areas.
The areas of 5 settlements in Sumy region, as well as more than 20 areas of Kharkiv region came under enemy fire.
At the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy fired at the areas of 5 settlements in Kharkiv region; 6 in Luhansk region and 1 in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut sector, the areas of 21 localities came under fire, including the city of Bakhmut itself.
In the Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions, the enemy shelled 14 localities with artillery.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the areas of 3 settlements in Donetsk region and 12 in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by fire.
In the Kherson direction, the city of Kherson suffered from MLRS fire. There are civilian casualties.
Also, the areas of 18 settlements came under enemy artillery fire.
