Occupying Russian forces have launched 7 rocket attacks on Zaporizhzhia, destroying residential buildings, killing 3 people, and injuring 12 more
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, reported at 5:21 p.m. that 12 people were sent to medical facilities after the overnight shelling of Zaporizhzhia.
"Director of the Department of Health Oleksii Kulynych reported that 12 patients were taken to medical institutions in Zaporizhzhia: 9 patients were hospitalized, and 3 people refused hospitalization after a medical examination. The condition of the people is satisfactory. One patient is in serious condition," Starukh wrote.
Among the injured are two children - four-year-old boys.
"According to Anna Tkachenko, head of the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region, there are three killed as a result of the tragedy: the identity of one woman has been established, and the identity of another woman is being established. The data is changing, and specialists continue to work at the scene," he wrote.
The deputy head of the President's Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted: "7 rockets! This is a planned attack on peaceful people. The Russian forces want to destroy our cities and villages, and wipe everything Ukrainian from the face of the earth. That's why we have to be strong and make every effort to win."
According to information updated by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration as of 2:50 p.m., the shelling was carried out by S-300 missiles. 3 people were killed as a result of the shelling, and 12 more were injured, including a child.
Earlier, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, said that a three-year-old girl was among the injured, and she was hospitalized.
At 06:14 Starukh said that as a result of the strikes, residential buildings suffered significant destruction: "Unfortunately, there are victims. Rescuers are getting people out from under the rubble."
Anatolii Kurtev, secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council, in turn clarified: "The Russians fired 7 rockets at ordinary high-rise buildings, in the apartments of which civilians were sleeping."
According to him, entire entrances were destroyed.
Earlier, Starukh wrote that as a result of enemy attacks, fires broke out in the city.
Local residents were urged to stay in shelters during the alarms.
"The actions of the Russian enemy are unpredictable. There is always a risk of repeated attacks. Follow the safety rules, stay in shelters. Do not approach the windows. Do not photograph the consequences of the attacks. There is no need to spread information about the shelling. Take care of each other. Maximum caution is required," Starukh advised.
At 05:15 he reported that the Russian forces attacked the regional center with rockets. Infrastructure objects became the targets of the Russian enemy.
