The Russian soldiers kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from blockaded Mariupol and took her to the territory under their control in occupied Donbas.
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this in its Telegram channel.
The girl's disappearance was reported by her grandfather, who is currently forced to live in Chernivtsi.
According to preliminary data, 12-year-old Kira Obedinska has been in Mariupol with her father Yevhen Obedinsky since the beginning of the war.
On March 17, the man was killed when a projectile hit their house. There was an attempt to evacuate the girl from the city together with other locals.
During the evacuation in an attempt to leave Mariupol, Kira was injured because of a mine explosion. After that, the girl, along with a group of other civilians, was abducted by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces and taken to the territory under their control of occupied Donbass.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
