Russians control Zarichne, Novotoshkivske, Zavody and fire on Ukrainian military in Azovstal area - General Staff

The Ukraine's General Staff reported this.

"The sixty-third day of the Ukrainian heroic opposition to the Russian military invasion has begun. The Russians continue to conduct a full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. The Russian offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone continue to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions", the report says.

The greatest activity of the grouping of the occupying forces is observed in the Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions.  The Russians take measures to resupply their subunits, which suffered losses during combat operations, with equipment.  In particular, due to removal from storage in warehouses and bases of military districts. Transportation of equipment to the territory of Ukraine is usually carried out by rail.

The Russian invaders continue to launch missile attacks on residential areas on the territory of Ukraine.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the Russians continue to inflict air strikes and hit the infrastructure of Kharkiv with artillery.

In the Izyum direction, the 1st Tank Army units, the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, the 35th Combined Arms Army and the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District and Airborne Troops conduct offensive operations in the Barvinkove direction. The Russiana captured the northeastern outskirts of Velyka Komyshuvakha settlement, and also took control of Zavody settlement. To increase the grouping of troops, the Russians transferred two battalion tactical groups from the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Airborne Forces from the Belgorod Region to Izyum city. Also, in the Belgorod region settlements, the Russians deployed two missile divisions of the Iskander-M OTRK.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian units are active along almost the entire line of confrontation. The main efforts of the Russians are concentrated on conducting offensive operations in the Severodonetsk, Popasna and Kurakhiv directions with the aim of taking Popasna and Rubizhne under full control and developing an offensive on Lyman, Severodonetsk and Slovyansk.

In the Lyman direction, the Russians established control over Zarichne settlement, carried out assault operations in the Yampil settlement area.

In the Severodonetsk direction, the Russians established control over Novotoshkivske settlement and conducted an offensive in the Nyzhne and Orikhove settlements directions.

In the Mariupol direction, the Russians heavily shell and block Ukrainian units in the Azovstal plant area. In the city, they continue to carry out filtration measures against the civilian population.

In the Southern Bug and Tauride directions, the Russians use the available forces and means to concentrate the main efforts on holding the previously occupied lines and fire on the positions of our troops.

In the Mykolaiv, Kryviy Rih and Zaporizhzhya directions, the Russians try to improve their tactical position. To this end, they regroup units, build up a system of fire damage, and also conduct aerial reconnaissance. By the National Guard forces, invaders carry out filtration measures in Kyselivka and Stanislav settlements, Kherson region.

In the Tauride direction, Russian subunits carry out engineering equipment of positions and replenishment of supplies.

No significant changes in the Volhynia, Polissya and Siversk directions.

On April 26, Ukrainian soldiers hit seven Russian air targets: Su-25 aircraft, Ka-52 helicopter, three operational-tactical UAVs and two cruise missiles.

Only in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, nine Russian attacks were repulsed, nine tanks, eleven artillery systems, four units of special and seventeen armored vehicles, three units of special engineering and sixteen units of automotive equipment, four tankers and one anti-aircraft installation were destroyed.

"The military transport, fighter, bomber and ground attack aviation of the Air Force continues to perform tasks in the airspace of Ukraine. During sudden air raids, Russian invaders suffer significant losses in their positions. As a result of air strikes, a lot of Russian equipment and manpower were destroyed", the General Staff added.
