On March 31, marking the second anniversary of the Kyiv region's liberation from Russian occupation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has visited Bucha to honor Ukrainians slain by Russian forces

The President announced this on Telegram.

"In this war, there is global significance. It is a war for the right to exist for our state and simultaneously for the right to life for every individual. It's a war for dignity for our nation and for every nation aspiring to its destiny. It is a war to ensure that no one dares to become a beast towards others," he wrote.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainians killed by the Russian occupiers, whose bodies lay on the streets of Bucha, were evidence that “no one in the world can remain indifferent to this battle.”

“Because it is here, in Ukraine, defending our people, our lives, our state, that humanity prevails,” he added.

According to the president, in order to initiate such aggression against others, Russia first destroyed morality within itself and made violence and hatred its ideology.

"Such systems don't just stop. Power stops them. Unity stops them. Determination and understanding - exactly what they want to destroy. I thank everyone in the world who really helps us. Glory to our strong people, our soldiers! Glory to all who defend humanity and life! Glory to Ukraine!" Zelenskyy summarized.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, and Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk came to honor the memory of the fallen Ukrainians, as the latter wrote on his Facebook page.

"Two years ago, after the city was liberated, the world saw the true face of Russia. The world saw the crimes, atrocities and cruelty of the aggressor country. And the world saw what kind of enemy Ukraine is facing. And what price the Ukrainian people are paying for their freedom," the post reads.
