This was announced by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
“The meeting is a response to another large-scale wave of Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. These strikes resulted in dozens of civilian casualties, including children. We call on Security Council members to use this meeting to express support for Ukraine in the face of Russian terror and to increase pressure on the Russian aggressor,” the minister said.
Sybiha also stressed that only pressure with new sanctions can force Russia to engage in real efforts to end the war.
