"Report from Oleksandr Poklad (First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Security Service, – ed.). We have captured the very Russian soldier responsible for the execution of Ukrainian prisoners in October of last year in the Kursk region. Every Russian killer must answer for what they have done. And they will," the president assured.
Also today, Zelenskyy heard a report from Yevhen Khmara, acting head of the Ukrainian Security Service.
"The Ukrainian Security Service, as always, is active in defending our state and our people. I approved new combat operations. The Service's internal transformation continues – precisely in a way that will strengthen our state," the Ukrainian leader noted.
- On October 13, 2024, reports emerged that Russian forces executed 9 Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region who had surrendered. However, Stanislav Bunyatov, commander of the 24th Assault Battalion Aidar, claimed the soldiers never surrendered and fought until the end.
