Anadolu correspondent Davit Kachkachişvili and Özge photojournalist Elif Kızıl managed to get out of the destroyed hotel, which was suddenly engulfed in flames, on their own.
Reporter Kachkachişvili suffered minor cuts on his hands. Both journalists were taken by ambulance to the hospital for examination, they did not suffer major injuries.
However, the vehicle used by the news agency's team was damaged during the Russian attack. It is now unusable, as are many other vehicles near the hotel.
The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported the information.
He noted that one missile hit the ground near the facade of the building, the second hit the roof of the building with the subsequent partial destruction of the back of the hotel.
According to Syniehubov, 12 people were injured in the attack. As of the morning of January 11, two people remain hospitalized: a 35-year-old man in serious condition and a 71-year-old woman in moderate condition.
Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that 13 people were injured as a result of the missile attack on the hotel as of 08:30 am.
Oleh Syniehubov reported on the condition of the victims.
As of 00:47 am on January 11, reports indicate that 11 individuals sustained injuries in the attack on the center of Kharkiv. The injured include 4 men aged 31 to 38 and 7 women aged 23 to 71. Among them, 9 victims were transported to the hospital. A 35-year-old man is in serious condition, while 8 patients are in moderate condition. Two individuals received on-site treatment. The victims are receiving all necessary assistance and are under medical supervision.
Earlier, Syniehubov reported 10 injured, including journalists of a Turkish outlet.
"One person is in serious condition, one was injured and is in moderate condition, and the remaining victims are in a stable condition. Among the injured are journalists from a Turkish outlet who were staying at the hotel. Emergency response efforts are ongoing, and rescuers continue to extinguish the fire," he wrote.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the victims include a Turkish citizen and a Georgian citizen. Both represented Turkish media. According to the National Police, all the victims are civilians.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov told the details of the missile attack on the United News telethon.
According to him, a hotel complex, a house, a car dealership, and a manufacturing plant were heavily damaged in the Kyiv district of the city.
"There were 30 people in the hotel complex at the time of the missile strike: 7 employees and 23 guests. All of them were civilians. There were no military personnel there," emphasized Ihor Terekhov.
Rescuers are working at the site of the attack.
Earlier, Oleh Syniehubov and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the missile attack on the city.
"The strike hit a civilian facility. There is a high probability of casualties among the people inside. Cars are burning in the parking lot next to the facility, and there is preliminary damage to the building. All relevant services have already arrived there," Terekhov wrote.
Syniehubov clarified that Russian troops attacked the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. Preliminarily, with S-300 missiles. He also confirmed the information about the damaged civilian object.
"There is a car on fire, information about the victims is being established," added Syniehubov.
The explosions occurred around 10:30 pm.
Late in the evening of January 9, Russian troops also fired missiles at Kharkiv. Civilian objects were damaged, in particular, the territory and premises of a children's recreation camp on the outskirts of the city.
