Russian troops attack central Kharkiv: 8-month-old baby among victims

On Tuesday, August 6, the Russian army struck the central district of Kharkiv, injuring at least eight people and damaging a polyclinic

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informed about this.

As a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv, civilian infrastructure was damaged. So far, two people with acute stress reactions have sought help. Syniehubov also added that there may be people under the rubble.

Later he informed that medics provided assistance to at least five victims: two women were hospitalized, and three more people will be treated on an outpatient basis. 

The spokesman for the regional prosecutor's office, Dmytro Chubenko, told reporters that the number of victims had increased to eight, Suspilne Kharkiv reports. 

According to him, as of 12:50 a.m., 15 multi-storey buildings and 25 cars were damaged. 

According to Kharkiv police, six women, a man, and an eight-month-old child were injured in the Russian attack. 

In addition, the head of the Military Administration reported that the Russian attack damaged civilian buildings, including a polyclinic, civilian cars, residential infrastructure, and smashed windows.

Earlier, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov provided an update regarding the strike.

According to him, the building of a polyclinic was damaged in the missile attack on the center of Kharkiv. Information about the injured and the extent of the damage is currently being clarified.

At the same time, the head of the Kharkiv garrison, Serhiy Melnyk, said that according to preliminary data, Russian forces used Iskander missiles to strike Kharkiv.

Earlier, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the attack.

"A blow to the central district of the city. Dense residential development. Fire," Terekhov wrote.

According to him, information about the destruction and casualties is being clarified.
