Russian army strikes cemetery in Ukraine’s Sumy region, killing woman

The Sumy Prosecutor's Office reported the information.
“On October 30, 2024, around 10:00 a.m., Russian forces launched an airstrike using methods banned by international law. Preliminary information indicates they used a guided bomb on the civilian area in Khotin. The munition struck a local cemetery, killing a 73-year-old woman and injuring a 42-year-old man,” the statement said.
Legal proceedings have been initiated for violating the laws of war and for premeditated murder.
Community leader Mykola Torianyk told Suspilne that the woman was cleaning her son's grave when the attack occurred.
- On the night of October 30, Russian forces launched Shahed-type attack drones into Ukraine. In Kyiv, 9 people are injured, a multi-storey building and a kindergarten are damaged.
