Russia strikes Kharkiv on Easter: number of casualties increased
On Sunday, May 5, Russians launched guided bombs at the center of Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, 16 people were injured and the city's infrastructure was damaged.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a strike on the residential sector in midtown Kharkiv. The head of the Kharkiv military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, specified that the attack took place in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
According to preliminary information, the infrastructure was damaged.
"Doctors are assisting five victims who were injured by glass fragments," Syniehubov later wrote, adding that the damage was likely caused by guided aerial bombs.
Later, it became known that a private house was hit, resulting in 2 people being wounded, Terekhov said.
At 17:31, Syniehubov reported 10 victims. One woman is in serious condition, her identity is being established. Two more men and a woman are being treated in a medical facility, their condition is moderate.
"More than 15 apartment buildings, private houses, cars, a non-operational sports complex, and office buildings were damaged," he wrote.
As of the morning of May 6, the number of injured increased to 16.
Oleh Syniehubov clarified that 14 apartment buildings, 3 cars, a medical facility, a dormitory, an office building, 8 private houses, garages, cafes are damaged, and three more private houses were destroyed.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office stated that, according to preliminary data, the Russian troops struck the city with three "UMPB D30-SN (unified interspecies planning munition, 30 cm caliber)".
Under the procedural supervision of the Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv, a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was initiated.
