The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported the information.

“Today is the Day of Mourning in Zaporizhzhia for the victims of yesterday's Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. The bloody hands of the enemy took the lives of 9 civilians. Including a 1-year-old boy,” noted Fedorov.

More on Russia’s attack on Zaporizhzhia

Earlier, Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, provided the information on Russia's attack.

According to him, one person was killed in the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. Also, 10 people were wounded, including a 1-year-old child.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration also noted that two people, including a medical facility employee, are in serious condition. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance to the injured.

Later, the State Emergency Service informed that the number of victims had increased to 18.

"A 4-storey residential building was partially destroyed. Rescuers have unblocked a child from the rubble and handed him over to medics. The search and rescue operation is underway," the statement says.

In addition, the blast wave damaged the building of a medical facility and set a car on fire. Also, 11 one-story residential buildings were damaged.

At the same time, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported 17 wounded. Among them are three children - a four-month-old girl and boys aged 1 and 10.

As of 5:19 p.m., the death toll in Zaporizhzhia has risen to 4, the Interior Ministry said. Rescuers pulled two injured children and a woman from the rubble. She lived on the third floor, and after the building collapsed, she was on the second floor.

"There may still be people under the rubble. The police have information about people who do not get in touch," the statement says.

Earlier, Ivan Fedorov reported that the Russians had struck the city five times. In particular, residential buildings and a hospital were hit.

At 7:12 p.m., Ivan Fedorov reported that the number of victims had risen to 33.

Alisa Sysoyeva, a deputy of the Zaporizhzhia district council, told Espreso that efforts to mitigate the consequences of the Russian strike, as well as rescue and search operations, are still ongoing.

"Today, the Russians targeted Zaporizhzhia with KABs, hitting five locations, one of which was an oncology clinic," she said.

Journalists spoke with a doctor who was in the hospital at the time of the attack. He explained that some patients were in the corridor, while others had gone to the shelter. The doctor and his colleague were in a resident's room when they were caught in the strike. They took cover under a table and then helped evacuate the patients.

"Unfortunately, some of the wounded are patients. We were informed that one of the oncology clinic employees is also in serious condition in the hospital," Sysoyeva added.

At 9:06 p.m., Fedorov updated the number of the wounded to 40, including four children.

"Three boys—aged 15, 5, and 1—and a four-month-old girl are under medical supervision. Around 30 people are in hospitals in moderate condition," he said.

Earlier, Fedorov had reported that Russian forces had struck the city five times, hitting residential buildings and a hospital. He also confirmed that there were casualties, and the extent of the destruction is still being assessed.

President Zelenskyy's reaction

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia.

He said that the Russian attack destroyed an apartment building, private houses, and damaged the building of an oncology hospital. It is already known about the killed and injured, and people are being searched for under the rubble.

Zelenskyy emphasized that each such Russian strike not only kills people and destroys lives, but also "destroys the meaning of any words that there are not enough conversations with Russia, some calls to the Kremlin.”

"They enjoy the death of people there. That's why air defense for Ukraine, the ability to destroy Russian military aircraft, the permission for Ukraine to conduct long-range strikes against the invaders - this is the real protection of life. And I am grateful to everyone in the world who helps with this," he added.

  • On November 5, the Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the shelling, 8 people were killed.
