Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, stated this during a telethon.
In the past 24 hours alone, Russian forces have shelled Donetsk region 2,970 times.
“The enemy bombards the entire Donetsk region every day. We’re no longer just talking about frontline cities. Over the past week, more than 5,000 people, including 16 children, have evacuated,” Filashkin stated.
He noted that the majority of evacuees are leaving large cities like Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk. However, he acknowledged that leaving Pokrovsk has become increasingly difficult due to Russian attacks on all access routes. Despite this, the White Angels rescue group continues evacuations using armored vehicles.
- On February 27, Russian forces attacked Kostiantynivka with Smerch rocket systems, killing one person and injuring four others.
