Russia damages nearly 400 residential buildings in Ukraine's Kharkiv in October
In October, 380 residential buildings in Kharkiv were damaged by Russian shelling
Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated this.
He noted that the data on damage to buildings in the city as a result of Russian shelling has been collected since the beginning of the war, but this time it was made public for the first time.
"So that both Kharkiv residents and our partners in Ukraine and abroad can see with their own eyes what challenges the city faces every day, what damage it suffers and how much effort is being put into its reconstruction," Terekhov explained.
Thus, according to the city authorities, in October 2024, 380 residential buildings, 4,648 apartment windows, 160 roofs, and 789 balcony glazing were damaged in Kharkiv. Accordingly, 4,273 windows and 698 balconies were closed, and 103 roofs were repaired.
According to the mayor, more than 450 specialists of public utilities and up to 50 units of special equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of each shelling.
- In particular, on November 1, Russia attacked Kharkiv with missiles. As a result of the strike on the law enforcement station, one person was killed and 30 police officers and ten civilians were wounded.
