As reported by Interfax, when asked if the updates to the Russian nuclear doctrine were connected to recent attacks by Ukrainian drones, Peskov responded, “There is no need to over-appeal to this document.”
He added that while the document is "extremely important" and "significant" decisions have been made, the ongoing “special military operation” (the war in Ukraine) should not be interpreted as necessitating connections to every incident.
Peskov emphasized, “There is no need to look for connections every time.”
