PACE to vote on resolution holding Russia accountable for aggression against Ukraine
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is set to vote on a crucial resolution regarding Russia's aggression against Ukraine
European Pravda reports that the vote will take place on April 9, as announced by Yevhenia Kravchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada's permanent delegation to PACE, on her Facebook page.
"The spring session of PACE has officially begun! The agenda of the week has been approved. An important resolution will be adopted on Wednesday - following the results of the debate on the urgent procedure 'Russian war of aggression against Ukraine: the need for accountability, avoiding impunity,'" Kravchuk wrote.
The resolution, according to Kravchuk, will call for the establishment of a Special Tribunal to address the crime of aggression and propose an international mechanism for compensation and prosecution for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. As Kravchuk emphasized, "The aggressor must know that it will be held accountable for its crimes - politically, legally, and financially. Otherwise, it will only be a matter of time before they happen again."
