The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported the information.

“Last night, rocket debris fell on private residential buildings in the Brovary district,” the statement said.

Following the attack, three people were seriously injured, including a 13-year-old child. Additionally, a 35-year-old man and his 4-year-old son were trapped under the rubble and found dead during search and rescue operations.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that, as of 09:00, the attack had destroyed two private houses and damaged six others across two districts in the region. Four cars were also damaged.

Emergency teams are on the ground working to manage the aftermath of the attack.

The Air Force reported the movement of Shahed drones in the Kyiv region around 02:00. By 06:40, several groups of attack UAVs were still present in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions.

Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that Russia launched a ballistic missile towards Kyiv. This was the second attack on Kyiv since the beginning of August. While the Russian missile did not reach the capital, the suburbs were heavily affected by the attack.

At that time, several dozen Shahed drones had already been launched into Ukraine. Approximately a dozen of these drones, after performing complex maneuvers, attempted to attack Kyiv. However, all of them were intercepted and shot down by air defense within Kyiv's airspace.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, there was no damage to Kyiv and no reports of casualties.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Russia likely used a North Korean missile.

“Preliminary information suggests that a North Korean missile was used in what appears to be another deliberate terrorist attack against Ukraine. Pyrotechnics teams are still working to confirm the exact details about this missile,” he added.

  • On Friday, August 9, the Russian army attacked a supermarket in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. The attack killed 14 people and injured 43.
