Children injured in Odesa due to Russian drone attack, man wounded in Mykolaiv region

During an air attack on the night of April 23, Russian troops employed attack drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles

Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of the Air Force, reported.

Russians attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. The occupants also launched 16 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs from Cape Chauda (Crimea) and the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

"Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces fended off the attack, and electronic warfare systems were used. Last night, the defenders of the sky shot down 15 "Shaheds" in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv and Cherkasy regions," Oleshchuk wrote.

Odesa region 

At least 9 people, including 4 children, were injured in an attack by the Russian army in Odesa. Preliminary, no one was killed. At least 14 apartments were damaged in the city. 

"Nine people were injured, 4 of them are children aged 12 and 9 and two babies who are not even a year old. Three adults were hospitalized in the city's medical institutions in moderate condition, two more refused hospitalization and received all the necessary assistance on the spot. Four children are also in moderate condition in the hospital. Doctors are providing all the necessary assistance to the victims," wrote Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Administration.

The Southern Defense Forces reported that the enemy targeted the industrial and port infrastructure of the region.

"In Odesa, the residential sector was destroyed, shops and other infrastructure facilities were damaged," the statement said.

Mykolaiv region

Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, said that during the combat operations of the air defense forces, the wreckage of the downed drone damaged the trade infrastructure in the region. 

"A trade pavilion caught fire and was quickly extinguished by firefighters," he wrote. 

Soon after, Kim also informed that a man was injured in Ochakiv as a result of the fall of the "Shahed debris". He is being provided with medical assistance.
