Russian Volunteer Corps claims raiding Russia’s Bryansk region
The Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) has claimed responsibility for another raid in the Bryansk region, Russia, which took place on the morning of September 4
The RVC fighters reported the information on their Telegram channel.
The RVC noted that two FSB border service officers were killed during the operation in the Bryansk region.
In addition, the RVC representatives ridiculed the statements of the Russian side about the successful rebuff of the raid.
"Congratulations to the Russian FSB on another ‘crackdown!’ The ‘successful repulsion of the attack of Ukrainian subversive groups’ would not have been so successful if at least two employees of the agency had not lost their lives," the volunteer corps said.
Thus, they said, it was the fighters of their unit who carried out this raid with a fight.
"By the way, you are confused again: Your boys/office men were taken out not by the Ukrainian subversive groups", but by the fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps!" the RVC emphasized.
They also published photos from the raid and posted screenshots of media coverage about the liquidation of FSB representatives.
The activities of the Freedom of Russia Legion and Russian Volunteer Corps
The Freedom of Russia Legion is a Russian military unit under the Ukrainian Armed Forces established in March 2022 during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. It has been reported that cells of this legion have emerged within Russia's territory as of May 1, 2022.
The Russian Volunteer Corps is another volunteer formation fighting alongside Ukraine. On March 29, they released a video denying any involvement of Ukraine in an operation that occurred in the Bryansk region on March 2, 2023. They confirmed their own participation in the operation by a video report.
On April 6, the Russian Volunteer Corps announced that it had once again entered Russian territory, specifically the Bryansk region, from Ukraine and returned without any casualties. Additionally, the volunteer group stated in a comment to Polygon Media that they had completed their "propaganda tasks" by engaging with the local population and distributing leaflets.
On August 24, the RVC called on Wagner PMC mercenaries who had not committed war crimes to defect to Ukraine.
On August 31, the RVC announced its involvement in an attack on an airfield in Russia’s Kursk region.
