Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, shared the information on Telegram.
"Russian troops struck the city center around 9 pm. Most likely, they knew perfectly well where they were aiming and realized that they would harm only civilians," he wrote.
At least 1 person was injured, 2 five-story buildings and private cars were damaged due to the Russian artillery shelling of the city.
This is not the first shelling of Kurakhove on December 20. A few hours earlier, Russian forces were firing at infrastructure facilities with large-caliber artillery, trying to deprive people of gas, power and heat, noted Kyrylenko.
