Russian troops set up military hospital in kindergarten in Zaporizhzhia region, disperse teachers who protest forced passportization in Luhansk region

“The Russian Federation continues its armed aggression against Ukraine, focusing its main efforts on attempts to completely seize the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within the administrative borders. The enemy continues offensives in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka and Shakhtarsk directions. The fiercest fighting continued in the southern and northern parts of Bakhmut, and the Russian forces also advanced in the Avdiivka direction to establish control over Avdiivka and Mariinka,” the military reported.
Russian attacks across Ukraine: Russian forces launched 41 airstrikes over the day
The Russian aggressor also continues to use its usual terror tactics against the civilian population, shelling of populated areas and critical infrastructure.
Invading Russian forces launched 41 airstrikes over the past day. Terrorists launched 21 Shahed drones from the Bryansk region, and 16 drones were shot down. As a result of the deadly UAV strikes, the territory of a dormitory of a vocational college in Rzhyshchiv, Kyiv region, was hit causing deaths and injuries among civilians. A civilian critical infrastructure facility in the Zhytomyr region was also damaged.
The occupying forces fired over 30 times from multiple launch rocket systems. The threat of attacks remains across Ukraine.
Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.
At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line: 3 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 3 more in the Sumy region, as well as 7 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked.
Russian offensive on the eastern direction
“In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Russian forces continue attempts to break Ukrainian defense. They conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Makiivka and Bilohorivka. In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian troops continue to advance, but their offensive potential is decreasing. The enemy keeps trying to capture the city, losing a significant amount of manpower, weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders are repelling numerous enemy attacks around the clock in the areas of Bakhmut, Bohdanivka and Predtechyne,” the General Staff wrote.
Shelling of Ukrainian regions
- In the Avdiivka, Mariinka and Shakhtarsk directions, the enemy conducted offensives in the areas of 7 settlements, but failed to succeed. 19 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked.
- In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian troops are defending themselves. However, 11 settlements came under enemy fire.

In the village of Vesele, Zaporizhzhia region, occupying Russian forces set up a military hospital on the territory of a kindergarten.
“At the same time, a meeting of teachers was held at the Starobilsk Vocational College of Luhansk National Agrarian University, where they expressed dissatisfaction with the forced passportization of the teaching staff, due to the instruction of the occupation 'management' of the educational institution to obtain a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation by June 1. Teachers are not given the opportunity to resign at will. The occupying troops dispersed the gathering by force and,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.
The Russian criminal authorities also continue to impose citizenship on the population of the temporarily occupied territories. In the Kherson region, gauleiters threaten local residents with suspension of pension payments if they do not have a Russian passport.

“During the day, the Defense Forces' aviation struck the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system, as well as 12 military positions. Support the Armed Forces! We will win together! Glory to Ukraine!” the General Staff wrote.
