Russian troops return to positions that were flooded due to Kakhovka HPP explosion
Russian invaders are returning to positions that were flooded due to the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station and attempting to set up mortar positions there.
The information was shared by Natalia Humeniuk, the spokesperson for the South operational command during an interview on Svoboda. Ranok program.
According to her, where the water has not yet receded, the occupiers are using boats to reach their former positions.
"We are observing their return. They (the invaders) are attempting to return to these distances that were inaccessible to them due to the high water level. They are trying to reach those areas by boats and establish their positions, particularly mortar positions. They choose upper floors of buildings that are not submerged but are close enough to carry out mortar attacks on the right-bank areas of Kherson region," shared Humeniuk.
She emphasized that the Russians intentionally set up positions in residential neighborhoods to use civilians as shield.
"This is a deceitful tactic they employ. They once again hide behind civilian objects and civilians themselves. Instead of providing assistance or using boats to help civilians, they utilize them to move their own positions," stated Humeniuk.
It should be noted that after the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, which was carried out by the Russians on June 6, they confiscated boats from the residents of the occupied town of Oleshky, depriving them of the opportunity to evacuate from the flooded territories.
- On June 26, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malliar said that Russia is bringing those troops back to eastern Ukraine that it had withdrawn to Moscow region because of Prigozhin's mutiny.
