Russian troops pressure Avdiivka from south and north, but it comes at a high price - Major Morozov
The situation in Avdiivka is escalating - Russian troops are attacking daily and making local advances. But this is happening at the expense of serious losses in strength and equipment
Maksym Morozov, a fighter of the Special Forces regiment and Major of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation is complicated and difficult to control. The enemy is exchanging meters of our land for the blood of our soldiers and equipment. They only care about advancing, regardless of the losses. Russians have suffered serious losses in manpower and equipment. But they are making some local progress," he said.
Morozov confirmed that the situation in the city is indeed getting worse.
"This is a common Russian tactic - to sacrifice manpower and equipment for the sake of local or semi-local success. A fantastic desire to surround Avdiivka drives their leadership. The enemy is spending a huge amount of ammunition - on positions and in the city. A huge number of missile and air strikes, artillery, and tanks are working," noted the Interior Ministry major.
The soldier added that a huge number of attacks on Avdiivka take place every day.
"Russians are intensively attacking from both sides - from the south and the north. It all depends on where they manage to advance. It depends on the professionalism of the Russian military and the amount of ammunition. It happens that they get rebuffed in the south and come from the north. They develop success thanks to waves of attacks - first cannon fodder goes to expose our firing positions and then professionals behind them who quickly and accurately try to extinguish our firing lines. Our artillery and our tanks are also doing well. They have to pay a rather high price for this advance they have," Morozov summarized.
