Russian troops lose positions east of Vuhledar - Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Voitko

Oleksandr Voitko, a serviceman in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, says Russian troops in the Vuhledar direction are primarily focused on defense and have not initiated large-scale attacks

He shared the information on Espreso TV channel.

"There is information indicating that the enemy refrains from conducting large-scale attacks in the Vuhledar direction and instead focuses on defense, shelling the city and the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with artillery. Our units are counterattacking the enemy at the tactical level whenever possible. Recently, a little east of Vuhledar, north of Volodymyrivka village, Russian troops lost a number of their positions, but these are tactical battles," said the Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman.

Colonel Voitko further stated that the primary Russian forces currently opposing the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Vuhledar direction are the 155th and 40th Marine Brigades. These brigades have already suffered significant losses among their professional personnel.

"The enemy has been reinforcing its troops in this area, even incorporating sailors from the Pacific Fleet, captured by us earlier. Also, after the invaders suffered significant losses during large-scale assaults, they were reinforced with various volunteer and Cossack units. But among these units, there have been numerous instances of reluctance to engage in further assaults and attacks upon witnessing the heavy casualties suffered by the marines," Voitko said.
