Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, said this on Espreso TV.
"Russian troops are trying to distract Ukraine's Armed Forces. Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka - we are conducting very heavy defensive battles there. On the other hand, they are gathering reserves in order to stop the advance of our troops in the Kharkiv direction. There are problems with crossing rivers there - bridges and pontoon crossings are broken. Our reconnaissance detects them, and artillery strikes. It is very difficult to perform this kind of task, but they are trying to do this," he said.
