Russian troops attack in 3 eastern directions, over 28 combat clashes occur in a day – AFU General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information on June 24.

"Russian troops attack in Lyman, Avdiivka and Marinka directions - over 28 combat engagements took place over the day," the statement said.

Russia launches 51 air strikes and 59 missile attacks on Ukraine in a day

During the previous day, in particular at night, Russian troops once again launched an air strike against Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region. The attack involved 14 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, 3 Shahed drones, and 4 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 14 missiles and 2 drones. They also destroyed a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter and 7 reconnaissance drones.

"Moreover, the enemy launched 51 air strikes and 59 MLRS attacks. Unfortunately, civilians were injured," the report says.

The situation in different regions of Ukraine

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched air strikes on 3 settlements across Sumy and Kharkiv regions. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of 31 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, 8 settlements across the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 2 settlements and air strikes near Nevske, Bilohorivka, and Siversk settlements. Seven settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 4 settlements. They also shelled 7 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Avdiivka. They launched air strikes near 5 settlements and shelled 5 more with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Marinka. They also shelled 3 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Vuhledar and Zolota Nyva. They also launched air strikes on 4 settlements and shelled 9 others. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are on the defensive, their priority is preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops. They are trying to regain lost position near Makarivka, Donetsk region.

Russian troops also launched air strikes on 6 settlements and shelled 39 settlements across Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions.

Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine destroy 4 concentrations of Russian manpower and military equipment, 5 air defense facilities and 2 electronic warfare stations

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces carried out 13 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel.

Also, Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck 4 concentrations of Russian personnel and military equipment, 15 artillery units at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare facilities and 5 air defense facilities over the past day.

• On the night of June 24, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones: there are reports of hits in Kharkiv and Dnipro, over 20 missiles shot down in the Kyiv region.

            Сivilian casualties and destruction are also reported.
