Russian soldiers in Zaporizhzhia region change into civilian clothes and abandon checkpoints
The number of Russian soldiers and their equipment in the temporarily occupied Polohy, Zaporizhzhia region, has decreased significantly
Mayor Yuriy Konovalenko told Radio Liberty about this.
“There are fewer of them and less equipment. They have left just a few checkpoints that are empty today, with no one manning them. Most of the remaining militants, as reported by our residents, are changing into civilian clothes and riding bicycles and scooters around the city, meaning they are less likely to try to move their vehicles,” Konovalenko said.
According to the mayor of Polohy, representatives of the occupation authorities are not evacuating anywhere, although they have a corresponding 'order'.
“We know that the so-called administrations have received 'orders' to evacuate. But as of today, we have not yet seen confirmation that those who came to work in those administrations are leaving. We can see them all, we know they are staying in the city,” said Yuriy Konovalenko.
