Russian attack on Kharkiv region wounds 43 people, 12 children among them

On the afternoon of 4 July, the Russian occupation army shelled Pervomaisky, Kharkiv region, injuring more than 43 people, including 12 children

As of 6:30 pm, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration said 43 people were wounded.

"According to updated medical data, as of now, 43 people have been injured as a result of the strike on Pervomaisky, including 12 children," head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov wrote.

The medics treated five of the injured on the spot. Their condition is moderate to light.

Earlier, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported 38 injured people

"As of now, 38 people are known to be wounded, including 12 children, as a result of the shelling of Pervomaisky in the Kharkiv region by the Russian military. The youngest baby is 3 months old, medics provided assistance to the child on the spot," the statement said.

Earlier, the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, reported 31 injured.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.

"As of 3:00 pm,, we know about a significant number of victims: 31 people have been hospitalised (including 9 children, 2 infants - 1 year and 10 months old)," he wrote.

According to him, high-rise buildings were damaged.

According to the updated information provided by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the enemy hit the town with an Iskander missile.

"The 10-month-old boy, who was taken to intensive care, has already been stabilized. Other children received light shrapnel wounds, bruises and scratches. All are being provided with medical assistance," he wrote.

In addition, windows were shattered in 9 high-rise buildings in the town. Emergency services are inspecting these buildings for possible structural damage. Only then will residents be allowed to return home. Currently, they are offered temporary accommodation in Pervomaisky and Kharkiv.

"We are currently asking the residents about their needs and organizing food deliveries," said Syniehubov.

Earlier, Syniehubov reported about the attack by a high-explosive projectile.

"According to preliminary information, the attack was carried out with a high-explosive shell. As a result, several cars in the car park caught fire. Currently, we know about 12 injured people, including 5 children," wrote Syniehubov.

The explosion is known to have occurred around 1:35 pm.

All services, including medics, are at the scene.
