Russian security forces raid railway stations in occupied Crimea – General Staff

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, representatives of the Russian Interior Ministry and the FSB conduct raids at railway and bus stations, primarily checking Crimean Tatars

This is stated in the evening report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff on May 15.

It is noted that the purpose of these measures is to strengthen control over the population.

The General Staff also stated that in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region, persons who agreed to cooperate with the occupiers are offered to renounce Ukrainian citizenship in writing and accept Russian citizenship. Those who refuse are threatened with dismissal from their jobs and further persecution.

Ukrainian aviation carried out 7 strikes on the occupiers' concentration areas and the same number on enemy air defense systems

In turn, missile and artillery units struck a control center, 2 areas of manpower concentration, 3 artillery units at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare stations, and a Russian ammunition depot.

Russian forces carried out 38 air strikes and fired 25 times from multiple rocket launchers during the day

Also, during the day, the Russian enemy launched 2 missile attacks on Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, using S-300 air defense systems.

The Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions:

The Russian Federation continued shelling Ukrainian border areas: 5 settlements in the Chernihiv region; 5 settlements in the Sumy region, 9 settlements in the Kharkiv region were attacked.

In the Kupiansk direction, 14 settlements in the Kharkiv and 1 settlement in the Luhansk region came under artillery fire. 

In the Lyman direction, the Russian enemy did not launch any offensive actions; there was an airstrike in the area of Spirne. 2 settlements in the Luhansk region and 2 settlements in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, heavy fighting for the city continues. 9 settlements in the Donetsk region suffered from Russian enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, occupying Russian forces continued to destroy the infrastructure of localities, launched air strikes on Avdiivka, shelled 5 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled numerous enemy attacks near the town of Marinka;5 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 4 localities in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces launched air strikes on 1 settlement in Donetsk region, 1 settlement in Zaporizhzhia region and 1 settlement in Kherson region. Russian forces shelled 3 settlements in Donetsk region; 8 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as the city of Kherson.

The Russian army shelled the frontline village of Dvorichna in Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, causing civilian casualties.
