Russian propagandist Poddubny formally suspected of justifying Russian war crimes over 'reports' from Borodyanka, Gostomel
Russian journalist Yevgeniy Poddubny was notified of suspicion for justifying Russian war crimes in Ukraine and illegally crossing the state border.
The Prosecutor General's Office informed about this in Telegram.
"Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Russian journalist was notified in absentia of the suspicion of justification, recognition of the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and glorification of its participants, as well as illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 436-2, Part 1 of Article 332-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)", the prosecutor's office writes.
In March of this year, a journalist of the Russian state television and radio company illegally crossed the state border of Ukraine together with the Russian military. In addition, the propagandist conducts reports from zones of active hostilities, covering events in our country from the position of the Kremlin.
The suspect is posing as a 'military expert' and is invited to comment on the 'situation at the front' by other propaganda TV and radio channels. In the materials, the journalist justifies Russia's war crimes, which kill the civilian population of Ukraine and destroy our infrastructure.
Also, in his telegram, the propagandist posted a video from the military airfield in Gostomel against the background of the AN-225 Mriya transport plane destroyed by Russian forces.
He presents the Russian invaders as liberators and talks about the need to destroy the constitutional system of Ukraine.
The Security Service reports that this is journalist Yevgeniy Poddubny.
"RosTB propagandist Yevgeniy Poddubny illegally entered the temporarily occupied territories of Gostomel and Borodyanka and conducted his fake reports from locations where Russian forces were raging," the message reads.
