Russian prisoner of war asks his government to exchange him for Kherson raccoon
Russian prisoner of war (POW) Oleg Mokashov has asked his government to exchange him for a raccoon stolen by the Russian troops from the Kherson Zoo.
This is reported on Spotlight Ukraine | Espreso TV Channel.
Russian soldiers have very little chance to survive on the battlefield, so they try to escape from Ukraine in various ways. For this purpose, Ukrainian intelligence has created a project working on identifying and collecting such representatives of the Kremlin troops. As this number of Russian soldiers rises every day, it is likely Ukraine will organize special camps in accordance with international law, the advisor to the President's Office Oleksii Arestovych says.
However, there is a high chance no one will come to exchange the surrendered ones, so the Russians in Ukraine resort to very unusual methods. For example, Oleg Mokashov, one of the Russian prisoners of war, asked Russia's government to exchange him for a raccoon stolen by the Russian troops from the Kherson Zoo.
According to the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council, Yurii Sobolevskyi, in terms of combat potential, the man offered a completely equal exchange and the Ukrainian side would even benefit.
