This was reported by the German Institute of the World Economy.
The cargo turnover of the port of St. Petersburg in October was less than 10% of the level of the same month in 2021. Novorossiysk's freight turnover decreased by approximately 50%. Imports through the port of Vladivostok also decreased, although less strongly, but it does not compensate for the lost trade between Europe and Russia.
According to the authors of the report, such data indicate that sanctions against Russia have an impact on it.
In June-August, the monthly import of goods to Russia from 57 countries, including China and EU countries, was 24% lower than last year. The reduction in imports amounted to approximately 4.5 billion dollars per month.
