Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi, spokesman for the joint press center of the Tavrian Defense Forces, said this on February 17 during a telethon.
"The enemy has changed its tactics in this area, it has stopped attacking our positions at night. Over the last 2 days the number of assault operations in this sector has been ranging from three to four," said the colonel.
"Earlier, they (Russians - ed.) were conducting disturbing fire, subversive intelligence groups and assault groups were constantly working. Today we can observe a different tactic: at night they are trying to restore, renew reserves and personnel," he added.
At the same time, according to Dmytrashkivskyi, the enemy is actively using artillery and aviation, as well as assault operations, which amounted to 16 the day before in the area of Vuhledar and Marinka.
On February 13, military expert Serhiy Kuzan told Espreso that the main goal of Russian attacks on the city of Vuhledar was to try to reach the rear of the AFU's Donetsk group.
