Russian occupiers ban civilians from entering 4 villages in Zaporizhzhia region without local registration - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in a daily morning briefing on May 2.

Russian occupiers are intensifying counterintelligence and police regimes in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region. 

In particular, in the settlements of Dorozhnyanka, Reshetylivka, Kostiantynivka and Chumatske, the invaders have banned the entry of civilians without local registration.

In addition, in Hornostayivka, Kherson region, there are significant problems with cellular communication of Russian operators, in contrast to the stable connection of Ukrainian national operators. 

The local command of the Russian occupation forces explains this fact by the results of the damage inflicted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russians focus on offensives in 4 directions, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 41 attacks

Russian troops keep concentrating on offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 41 Russian attacks there. 

Bakhmut and Marinka remain the hotspots of the fighting, with Ukrainian troops holding the line.

Defense Forces destroyed 3 air defense systems, hit 3 warehouses and about 10 areas of invaders' concentration

On May 1, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems and carried out 7 strikes on the areas of Russian troops’ concentration. 

In turn, missile and artillery units struck a control center, 6 areas of weapons and military equipment concentration, 2 ammunition depots and 1 fuel and lubricant depot over the course of the day.

A Russian reconnaissance UAV of the Orlan-10 type was also shot down.

Russia launched 19 missile and 17 air strikes against Ukraine over the last day

The Russian Federation continues to use terror tactics and has launched 19 missile strikes (Ukrainian defenders successfully destroyed 15 Russian cruise missiles of the Kh101 and Kh-555 types), carried out 17 air strikes, and fired 25 times from multiple launch rocket systems over the past day. 

There are dead and wounded civilians, including children. Residential high-rise buildings, private homes, schools, hospitals, kindergartens and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.

Situation in the following directions

No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the northern and northwestern Ukrainian border.

In the northern and north-eastern part of Ukraine, Russian forces launched an air strike with guided missiles on the village of Lyzunivka in Chernihiv region, killing a child. They also shelled 5 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 6 in the Sumy region and 4 in Kharkiv region.

The Russian army did not conduct offensives in the Kupyansk direction, but shelled 7 settlements in the Kharkiv region with artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops tried to improve the tactical situation and conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Novoselivske and Bilohorivka. They launched an air strike on 3 localities and shelled 3 populated areas in Luhansk region and 2 in Donetsk region.

The Russian enemy keeps attacking in the Bakhmut direction. Fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. In addition, the Russian invaders carried out unsuccessful offensives in the direction of Predtechyne during the day. They also launched an air strike on Bakhmut and Bila Hora. As a result, 11 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from hostile attacks.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Sievierne and Pervomaiske. They conducted an air strike on Avdiivka. Four localities in the Donetsk region were under fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Russian forces keep attacking the positions of the Ukrainian defense forces. Fighting for Marinka is ongoing. Heorhiivka in the Donetsk region also came under enemy fire.

In the Vuhledar direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions during the day, but fired at 3 localities in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian occupiers are defending themselves. In addition, they are shelling populated areas. Among them - 3 settlements in Donetsk region; 9 in Zaporizhzhia; 1 in Dnipropetrovsk region, 12 in Kherson region and the city of Kherson itself.
