Russian night drone attack causes infrastructure damage, Russian troops seeks new tactics - Ukraine’s Defense Forces
Russian drone attack in Vinnytsia region resulted in a hit to an infrastructure facility, Russian forces are looking for new tactics
Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, said this during the telethon.
"Unfortunately, there has been a hit to an infrastructure facility in our district, in Vinnytsia region. But still, most of the Shahed drones were shot down," she said.
Humeniuk added that the Russian forces are currently looking for new tactics to attack Ukraine. According to her, they were not only trying to target critical and strategic infrastructure, but also looking for air defense capabilities. For this purpose, they use cheaper means - drones, in order to save missiles. At the same time, the number of drones is smaller than it was during previous attacks.
Also, according to Humeniuk, the invaders are trying to use different directions for attacks. For example, earlier they attacked from the direction of the Azov Sea, but now they are attacking from different regions: from the North, Northwest, and North-East.
"Obviously, they are choosing tactics that will be more effective for them. But still, they use 10-12-14-15 drones in one attack in a more or less wave-like manner," emphasized Humeniuk.
She explained that the first wave of drones detects where the air defense system is located and where it will start operating. The second wave tries to hit it, and the third wave attacks infrastructure directly, which are the main targets.
"We do observe that they are adapting, trying to anger the air defense, among other things, because they change directions during the attack," said Humeniuk.
