Russian night attack: Shahed drones hit plant in Poltava region, cause damage in Kirovohrad region
On the evening of Tuesday, October 31, Russian forces launched attack UAVs on Ukrainian territory. One of the drones hit an oil refinery in Kremenchuk, and another hit a railroad contact network in the Kirovohrad region
The Ukrainian Air Force reports.
"In the area of responsibility of the Eastern Air Command in the Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih districts, 2 Russian UAVs of the Shahed 131/136 type were destroyed," the Air Force said at around 9 p.m.
As of 11:15 p.m., the UAV threat was reported almost throughout Ukraine. Russian terrorists launched drones from the south, north and east.
The Air Force warned of UAVs near Kremenchuk, in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, as well as in the Vinnytsia region (in the western direction). At half past two in the morning, a UAV was spotted near Vinnytsia, and in the Kherson region, an air alert sounded due to enemy tactical aircraft activity in the southeast.
According to the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, at 9:51 p.m., air defense was triggered in the region.
At 12:09 a.m., the Air Force reported that a group of attack UAVs was moving across the territory of Khmelnytskyi region. The probable direction is Starokostiantyniv.
The first deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi regional military administration, Serhiy Tyurin, reported explosions and air defense activity in the Khmelnytskyi district.
The air raid alert spread further to the western regions of Ukraine. The threat of attack UAVs was also announced in the Ternopil region.
At 3 a.m., an air alert sounded in the Lviv region due to the threat of attack UAVs. At around 5 a.m., the all-clear signals were declared throughout Ukraine.
At 8:24 a.m., Tyurin reported that air defense was operating in the Khmelnytskyi region, with no casualties or damage.
At 8:44, the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, reported that the attack had no consequences for the region.
"We were on alert for half the night. All this time, there was a threat of Russian attack UAVs in our region. Air defense forces were working. Fortunately, it was without consequences," he wrote.
Poltava region
"Last night the enemy repeatedly attacked the Poltava region with UAVs. The air raid lasted more than four hours. Unfortunately, there was a hit on an oil refinery in Kremenchuk," writes Philip Pronin, head of the Regional Military Administration.
It is noted that as a result, a fire broke out and was extinguished by rescuers. The situation is currently under control, with no injuries reported.
The report added that some of the Russian drones were eliminated by the Ukrainian military.
Kirovohrad region
The head of the Regional Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, said that the region had experienced the longest Air raid alert in the entire great war.
"The wreckage of the drone shot down over Kropyvnytskyi district damaged the railway contact network. There were no casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure. The repair team quickly fixed the damaged area," he wrote.
