Russian MLRS attack on downtown Kherson kills 3, wounds 25
On the morning of Friday, October 24, the Russian army attacked the Korabelnyi district of Kherson with multiple launch rocket systems. As a result of the attack, three people were killed and scores wounded
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the information.
According to the investigation, residential areas of the city came under Russian fire. Among the victims is a 16-year-old teenager. Seven people have been hospitalized in medical facilities.
The victims were on the street and in their own homes at the time of the attacks.
The shelling damaged private and apartment buildings, transport, and infrastructure facilities.
As of 10:20 a.m., the death of another woman was confirmed. Accordingly, the number of deaths from the massive shelling of Kherson increased to three, and the number of wounded to 14.
As of 11:05 a.m., the number of victims from the shelling of the Korabelnyi district increased to 19.
"A 58-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man sought medical attention for blast injuries and concussions. During the enemy attack, they were in a minibus. They will be treated on an outpatient basis," reported the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Kherson City Council clarified that public transport came under Russian fire in the Korabelnyi district.
"A trolleybus and a minibus were damaged. A female driver of the Kherson utility company was injured. Information about the victims in the minibus is being verified. As of now, one passenger has been reported dead and another injured," the statement said.
In addition, an 83-year-old man suffered a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed head trauma while inside his home during the Russian attack.
Later, three more people required medical assistance.
"A 65-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman, and another Kherson resident sustained concussions and blast injuries as a result of the morning shelling of the Korabelnyi district by Russian forces," the city council reported.
As of 2 p.m., the number of injured had risen to 25.
On Thursday evening, October 23, the Russian army launched attack drones across the territory of Ukraine. In the Kropyvnytskyi region, critical infrastructure was hit.
