Russian missiles depend on foreign components and Russia will be able to produce only 2-3 units per week – expert
Oleksandr Kovalenko, military and political columnist of Information Resistance, noted that all missiles currently used by Russia are Soviet projects, and they have upgraded their characteristics by using equipment and spare parts of foreign origin
He told this live on air of the Espreso TV channel.
The military expert commented on Russia’s stockpiles of missiles.
"Missile stocks are renewable. Russians have a production of missiles that is not serial, but depends on smuggling of spare parts, most of which are of foreign origin. In fact, all missiles that Russia currently uses are Soviet projects, and they have upgraded their characteristics using equipment and foreign components. These enhanced features give them some advantages over air defense. However, it is reliance on foreign parts that makes their production piece-by-piece. If they have everything they need, they can make 2-3 missiles per week, or maybe even less, because it depends on availability of components", military-political columnist of Information Resistance explained.
Oleksandr Kovalenko noted that Russia will never run out of missiles, because there will always be some minimal production.
"And what is being used now, we can already talk about intact stock, because even in the best times for Russia, it produced some range of missile weapons in small quantities. And now in more difficult times due to sanctions and other factors, Russian production is actually in anabiosis. It is there, but not powerful enough to provide 100 missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine every day", Kovalenko noted.
