
Russian military train headed for Crimea blown up near Melitopol — key logistics route hit
On the night of May 31, an explosion hit a section of track near the temporarily occupied town of Yakymivka in Zaporizhzhia region's Melitopol district, blowing up a Russian military train
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the report, the Russian freight train was heading toward the temporarily occupied Crimea. Due to the explosion on the tracks, the train, carrying fuel tanks and freight cars, derailed.
"The key logistical artery of the Muscovites in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region and Crimea has been disrupted," the HUR stated.
Following the incident, the occupiers announced a so-called interception plan on the railway. Russian Guard patrols began searching populated areas and inspecting checkpoints. The Russians are especially strict with people entering or leaving.
"The fight against the military logistics of the Russian forces continues," Ukrainian intelligence officers said.
- Separately, the Atesh guerrilla movement recently sabotaged a railway line in Russia’s Tula region. Agents set fire to a relay cabinet, which temporarily paralyzed train traffic.
