Russian military tortures environmental activist Dmytro Demchuk, interrogates his daughter in Crimea
Invading Russian forces have searched and tortured Dmytro Demchuk, an activist from Sudak who was covering environmental issues in the temporarily occupied Crimea

“In Crimea, on February 9, Russian security forces searched the apartment of Crimean activist from Sudak, Dmytro Demchuk, putting him under physical and psychological pressure,” the post says.
It is also noted that, according to Demchuk, masked Russian security forces with weapons entered his apartment. The man was handcuffed and charged under Article 282 of the Russian Criminal Code (incitement to hatred or enmity, humiliation of human dignity). Russian security forces interrogated his minor daughter and searched his apartment.
“After the search, I was demonstratively led in handcuffs across the yard of our house and put in a minibus accompanied by armed guards who threatened to take me to the forest all the way,” the activist said.
According to Demchuk, he was brought to the E Center in Simferopol, where he was interrogated in the basement. According to him, a hood was put over his head and the back of his head was hit hard, and he was also subjected to psychological pressure. He notes that he was forced to confess under torture. After that, he was brought to the train station, from where he went home.
“One of the participants in the search came to my house to help 'settle' the case for a reward, but eventually left and promised to put me in jail,” the activist said, adding that during the search they found a hunting rifle, and another report was drawn up.
