The investigation established that on January 9, around 09:10, Russian occupying forces launched a missile attack on the market in the village of Shevchenkove, Kupyansk district.
Oleh Synyehubov clarifies that two women died, they were 50 and 60 years old. Another 5 civilians were injured, including a 10-year-old girl.
According to preliminary data, Russian troops shelled settlement from the S-300 air defense system from the territory of the Belgorod region, Russian Federation.
"Under procedural leadership of Kupyansk district prosecutor's office of Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation has been started in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional homicide," the prosecutor's office added.

"According to the updated information, unfortunately, a 60-year-old woman died," the official wrote.
All other victims have been hospitalised, and doctors are providing them with necessary assistance.
Rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
"In Shevchenkove village, Kupyansk district, there was a missile attack on a local market," Synyehubov writes.
Previously, Russian troops shelled with S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.
Emergency services are currently on crime scene.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of Ukrainian President's Office, wrote that people may remain under the rubble.
In addition, on January 8, Russian troops shelled Kupyansk, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Staritsa, Milove, Pershotravneve and other settlements.
"Last day, Russian forces shelled with artillery, tanks, and mortars at populated areas of Chuhuyiv and Kupyansk districts," head of the region wrote.
In Kupyansk, as a result of Russian strikes, household buildings were damaged, and there was fire. In Vovchanski Khutory village, Chuhuyiv district, a private residential building was destroyed by shelling.
No one was injured as a result of Russian attack.
Russian troops constantly shell the Kharkiv region. On January 6, in Dvorichne village, a partially destroyed lyceum was extinguished by firefighters for three hours. A civil industry building was also damaged in Kupyansk.
