Russian military offensive has not started yet – General Kryvonos
Serhiy Kryvonos, General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, First Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2016-2019), former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, noted that the reserves of the Russian army are beyond the reach of Ukrainian firepower
He said this on Espreso TV.
"When they talk about the offensive of Russian troops, it has not yet begun. The Russians are stuck in local battles, which are heavy and bloody, but meanwhile, they are still local battles with heavy losses on both sides. There is no offensive yet. Russian reserves are beyond the reach of our firepower at the front. A huge number of the enemy grouping is located near Voronezh," said the Ukrainian Armed Forces General.
Serhiy Kryvonos noted that by conducting local battles, the enemy is testing Ukrainian defense and looking for places where it can increase its efforts to launch an offensive.
"The enemy has a cherished dream – an offensive from the Russian border past Kharkiv in the direction of Pavlohrad, as well as along Zaporizhzhia in the direction of Pavlohrad to completely encircle our Donetsk group. Accordingly, for this dream, they need a certain amount of resources, which our intelligence officers will show us. They do have the resources, but the future will show whether they will be enough. I wouldn't be so super optimistic that the enemy is running out of steam. They have the human resources and equipment. Some people say that the Russian forces have old equipment, but it shoots and kills people, and we need to take this into account," Kryvonos said.
