Russian leadership assign third wave of Avdiivka offensive to infantry - Ukrainian officer
Major Maksym Morozov, an officer of the Freedom Legion, said that the enemy is attacking Avdiivka from all sides and is actively moving towards the industrial zone
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The situation in the Avdiivka sector remains critical, but the Defense Forces are destroying a lot of enemy manpower and equipment. The Russian forces do not abandon their attempts to capture Avdiivka or encircle the city. The enemy is attacking from all sides and is actively moving towards the industrial area, trying to get in. These hostile actions have been unchanged for several days. Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades are counterattacking to prevent the Russian enemy from advancing and expanding the grey zones," Morozov explained.
According to the Legion of Liberty officer, the Russian forces are using air power, guided bombs to destroy Ukrainian defensive positions.
"The Russian enemy is demolishing all the buildings in Avdiivka to make it impossible for our guys to stay there. There is constant pressure on the city. The enemy's attacks resemble cannon fodder assaults. The number of Russian infantry has increased in the Avdiivka sector. The Russian leadership assigned the third wave of the offensive on Avdiivka to the infantry. Thanks to this cannon fodder, the Russian enemy was supposed to cross the railway, enter the coke plant, and seize the industrial area. But none of the goals were achieved," Morozov stressed.
