Russian-controlled militants arrange trial for captured Ukrainian officer
The so-called Supreme Court of the LPR convicted the company commander of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, Andriy Savchuk
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this.
They claimed that the Ukrainian military was sentenced for allegedly committing crimes against the civilian population of Donbas. The man was accused of ill-treatment of civilians, the use of prohibited methods, attempted murder and intentional damage to other people's property.
According to Russian investigators, in early June 2022, Savchuk received an order by radio to clarify the coordinates of civilian houses in the village of Mykolaivka "to launch artillery strikes on them to destroy property."
"While near the village of Spirne, Savchuk used a quadcopter to reconnoiter the area and radioed the coordinates of the houses to his colleagues, after which a Grad MLRS unit fired shrapnel shells. As a result, two private households in the village of Mykolaivka were damaged," the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted.
The so-called court "sentenced" the Ukrainian officer to 16 years in prison in a strict regime colony.
In addition, the invaders published a video in which they forced the soldier to confess to the crime.
- Earlier, the invaders in the Luhansk region "sentenced" a soldier of the 24th Brigade to 14 years in prison.
