Russian invaders advance along entire line of contact and storm Rubizhne, Popasna and Maryinka in Donetsk direction - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian invaders are conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to defeat the grouping of the Joint Forces, establish full control of the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and ensure the land route between these territories and the occupied Crimea.

"The greatest activity of the Russian invaders is observed in the Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions. Their units are regrouping. They do not stop launching missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure", the General Staff informed.

In the Volhynia, Polissya and Siversk directions, Belarus Armed Forces units perform the tasks of strengthening the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in the Brest and Gomel regions.

To clarify the position of Ukrainian troops in the Sumy direction, the Russian invaders used a UAV from the area of ​​​​Glushkovo settlement. The threat of missile and air strikes in the indicated directions remains. Also, the Russians may carry out provocations on the Ukrainian-Russian border to accuse representatives of the Ukrainian Defense Forces", the General Staff warned.

Also, the Russian troops grouping operates in the Tauride and Southern Bug directions. It consists of 8th and 49th combined arms armies separate units, 22nd army corps, Black Sea Fleet coastal troops of the Southern Military District and airborne troops.

"The Russians are focusing their main efforts on improving tactical position and maintaining the lines they occupy. To create favorable conditions for advancing towards Mykolaiv city, the Russian invaders fire at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To build up the air defense system in the area of Skadovsk city, they deployed the S-300VM battery", the General Staff noted.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the Russian troops grouping continues to partially block Kharkiv and fire at it from cannon and missile artillery.

"1st Tank Army separate units and 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, 35th Combined Arms Army and 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District and the airborne troops are conducting offensive and assault operations south of Izyum. The Russian invaders conduct air reconnaissance of positions, and measures to establish fire support of the offensive and logistical support of the group", the Armed Forces said.

The General Staff drew attention to 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade units, which took an active part in the massacres, torture and rape of the civilian population in Bucha. They are operating in the area of ​​the Izyum settlement and have already suffered losses.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian invaders conduct offensive operations along the entire line of confrontation. They concentrate their main efforts on offensive operations in the Severodonetsk direction, exerting an intense fire on Ukrainian troops to drive them out and create conditions for the development of an offensive against Slavyansk. The offensive continues in the direction of Novotoshkivskoye and assault operations in the areas of Rubizhne, Popasna and Maryinka.

"In the Mariupol direction, the Russian invaders continue to block Ukrainian units in the area of ​​the Azovstal plant and deliver air strikes on the city, using long-range aircraft. An engineering unit arrived in the occupied city to clear the Mariupol port infrastructure", the General Staff informed.

To reinforce its grouping in the Zaporizhzhya direction, the Russian invaders moved a Battalion Tactical Group from the 19th Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.

"As part of the formation of additional reserves, the training of the PMCs unit of up to 200 people has been completed. The unit's advance group has been deployed to the Novobakhmutivka area to reconnoiter the area and clarify the procedure for interaction. The information is being specified.

In the Southern Bug direction, the Russian invaders try to improve their tactical position and gain a foothold on the administrative borders of the Kherson region. They suffer significant losses in technology.

In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones, the Russian naval groupings in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas continue to carry out the tasks of isolating the combat area and conducting reconnaissance.

"In the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions alone, eight Russian attacks were repulsed over the past 24 hours. Nine tanks, eighteen armored units and thirteen vehicles, a tanker, and three artillery systems were destroyed", the General Staff said.
