Russian forces try to storm Luhansk region in four directions, attack falters
Russian forces have begun to storm Ukrainian locations in the Luhansk region, continuously shelling civilians, but the offensive was stopped.
Luhansk regional military administration head Sergiy Gaidai shared the news, Espreso reported.
On July 18, Russian forces attacked the part of Luhansk region where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are defending. Having launched four rockets and two air strikes on settlements on the border of the two regions, as well as shelling civilian residences eleven times with artillery, the occupiers tried to conduct an assault in four directions during the day.
According to Sergiy Gaidai, they attacked Verkhnyokamyanske both from the side of the oil refinery and from the Zolotarivka area. From there they wanted to advance towards the Donetsk region. They tried to improve their position near Bilogorivka. In many places, the offensive was stopped, in some places, fighting continued. Russia also carried out an air strike on Verkhnyokamyanske.
