Russian forces shell Chinese terminal in Mykolaiv port destroying 17,000 tons of sunflower oil

Russia has fired missiles at a terminal leased by a Chinese corporation in Mykolaiv Seaport, so Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has called on Beijing to increase pressure on Moscow

This was reported by the spokesman of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleh Nikolenko.

As a result of the shelling, 17,000 tons of sunflower oil worth USD 26 million were destroyed. Another Chinese-owned terminal is also under threat of Russian fire.

“We constantly draw the attention of the international community to Russia's purposeful destruction of agricultural terminals in Ukraine as part of the Kremlin's strategy to undermine global food security,” he emphasized. “The shelling of the Chinese terminal in the Mykolaiv port once again confirms the importance of intensifying efforts by Beijing to end Russia's war against Ukraine.”

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged China to demand that Moscow immediately end its attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure, in particular for the sake of preserving the property of Chinese enterprises.
