This was reported by the Kherson edition of Most.

"In the occupied Henichesk, more people voted in the Russian "elections" than there are physically present. This is evidenced by a document published by the Russian Central Election Commission," the statement says.

According to the document, a fake "local government" was "elected" in Henichesk with the support of 23,678 votes.

However, in 2001, according to the census, only 21,793 people lived in Henichesk. Since then, the population of Henichesk has not increased, but rather decreased significantly due to the full-scale war.

"By the way, the ruling party in Russia, United Russia, won the 'elections' - it received 73.56% of the vote. It will be represented in the fake "council of deputies" of Henichesk by 15 people. Among them are the Russian puppet leader of the Henichesk district, Kherson region, Olena Terskykh and the Russian-appointed mayor of Novooleksiivka, Asan Aliyev," the article says.

Sham elections in the temporarily occupied territories

On August 31, the Russian forces began holding so-called elections to pseudo-local councils and "legislative bodies" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

On August 29, Ukrainian partisans in the temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka destroyed the election regional headquarters of United Russia.

Also, the Security Service of Ukraine targeted collaborators who were going to hold sham elections in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region with drones.

In addition, the Security Service has identified more than 3,500 collaborators and their Russian "curators" involved in the organization of illegal voting in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano issued a statement condemning Russia's "elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Using UAVs, the Defense Forces distributed leaflets over the temporarily occupied territories calling for ignoring the Russian sham elections, which are to officially begin on September 8.

In the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, explosions were heard for two days in a row near the occupiers' "polling stations". Activists deliberately spoiled ballots to show their attitude to the "authorities".

The Council of Europe condemned Russia's sham elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine on September 8-10, calling them a gross violation of international law.

The resistance movement reported that Russia is forcing locals in the occupied territories of Ukraine to "vote" in illegal sham elections, and that travel is prohibited in some settlements.
