Russian forces prepare false-flag attacks at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant - Energoatom
On December 7, invading Russian forces brought several Grad MLRS to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP) and placed them near the nuclear fuel storage
Energoatom, Ukraine’s nuclear energy operator, reported this on Telegram.
“Yesterday, the Russians brought several Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to the territory of the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” the press service writes.
According to reports, Russian forces have placed installations near the 6th power unit, next to the station's dry nuclear fuel storage territory, where "previously some protective structures" were built in secret mode, violating all conditions of the nuclear and radiation safety organization."
Energoatom assumes that the Russian forces are preparing to bombard the opposite bank of the Dnipro River, in particular Nikopol, Marhanets and the region, from the site of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, covering themselves with power units and a storage of nuclear fuel.
The company calls on the world and the IAEA to create a safe zone inside and around the station.
“The whole world understands the flagrant violation of all norms and requirements of nuclear and radiation safety of the NPP, which the invaders use for military purposes. From the very beginning of the aggression, they have stationed personnel, military equipment, weapons and explosives there; they have mined the territory of the station and access roads to it,” the press service added.

On December 6, Rosatom announced that it would not transfer control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP to the IAEA, as the organization allegedly does not have a mandate to manage nuclear plants.
